Wow it is only Tuesday and I feel like I have been through the proverbial ringer! My domestic helper did something that I think is endemic to kenya. She left for her day off on Sunday and did not bother to return. She ignored my calls as I write has still not returned. I was mad as hell and if it were not for my husband, i would have thrown her luggage out of my house as I am not running a free storage room in my free time! how dare she? I thought and not to mention she had given me a sob story about her children and how poor she is prompting me to give her some of my sons old clothes, shoes and books! Talk about being used and taken for a ride. That was me.
Anyhow, I have had two days of slaving till I felt like my back would break but lo and behold I have somebody today and I pray that she works out. My three month old angel has been a real gem, cutting her mama some slack and allowing me to catch some rest :-). She is doing amazing things everyday and she is such a joy to watch. She is the most beautiful thing to me. She is bearing weight on her legs for seconds at a time and holding her head up more steadily. The look of concentration on her face when she does it is quite a spectacle. She has just found her hands and will try and bring them together and play with her fingers. When watching her nursery rhyme DVD's she has this contemplatary ( if there is such a word) thing she does with her hands. Where she puts them together and twidles her thumbs in deep introspective thought. I think she gets that from her Daddy. he is the introvert.
Princess loves to smile and talk. She has a whole lot to say and sometimes looks like she is literally going to explode from words! We all sit down and have conversations with her. and we carry on like that until there are no words left to say. We are watching the development of language with Awe. We start with a gurgle, develop to cooing and sing song sounds then form words. Princess will be quite a parrot it's in her eyes:-)
Her bath time is becoming favourite time and she is kicking her legs about. I am definetly due for a leg shower soon. Once she discovers she can make a big splash with her legs I am in for it. Better get me a trench coat :-). I am feeling glad that I have someone to help me now and I can have some alone time to just sit down and write. Better get some dinner and get my sleep on.

Mummy Hood
I love being a mummy more than anything else in the world. Once I get over the bloated feeling and the numerous changes my body has gone through since I gave birth to my precious little gal three months ago. I hate the fact that nothing fits and i have been looking at my pre-preggie clothes with a whole lot of longing :-). So I resolved a couple of weeks ago to seriously begin excercising again. Well so far other than the trips I keep taking up and down the stairs in the midst of my day and one walk this week, it seems like resolve is all I have done. I have been religiously setting the alarm to wake me up every morning, the only excercise I do when it does is lift my arm and press the snooze button! I have this conversation in my head about how it is justified for me to lie in because I have to get up at night to feed my princess. I argue that I will try and do some excercise later in the day. ( that never happens!) Somethings gotta give I am exhausted with this muffin top and the bloating. I have got to loose some weight and fast. Princess slept through the night yesterday so the excuse of having to wake up to feed her will be hogwash if she keeps this trend up. I will set the alarm again tonight as I have been doing every night for the past week and come morning we shall see if my resolve will finally get me out of my warm snugly bed and into my nikes! I have to make it out the door though :-)
